HMRC Taskforce – The Northern Light

HMRC has announced four new taskforces to investigate tax evasion in specific commercial and geographical sectors.  The taskforces bring together various compliance teams for what they term intensive burst of targetted activity.

If you operate within any of the categories below, or know someone who does, we can do a check of your business records and identify any possible problem areas in case HMRC come calling.

The new taskforces are localised and cover the following:

• Holiday industry in Blackpool, Lake District, North Wales, Devon and Cornwall
• Restaurants in Yorkshire and Humber
• Road hauliers in the Midlands
• Fishing industry in Scotland
